COURTHOUSE RESEARCH REPORTS!
From Personal Research at the Courthouses
We have personally researched in more than 500 courthouses, and offer reports from many of them. We usually list data from the deed and probate indexes, as well as marriages, deaths, etc. from the formation of the county to the mid to late 1800s. Then we abstract as many of them as possible. We average 8-12 hours in each courthouse (not including the time to prepare the report), but many represent many more hours of research, i.e., Philadelphia about 50 hours, Suffolk Co., New York about 80 hours, etc. The reports contain all we found on Roses in these counties. Some are from more than one trip, and many are supplemented by data from the State Archives and other repositories. As the material is studied, many clues will be found in names of adjoining property owners, witnesses, sureties, etc. Often relationships are stated or implied. Individually each report would cost hundreds of dollars in time and expense.
